Auditing with added value for clients

Voluntary annual audits or is there a legal obligation?

If your GmbH or GmbH & Co. KG is a medium-sized and large corporation according to § 267 HGB? In this case, you are legally obliged to have the annual financial statements assesses by an auditor before findings and disclosure. You can also have your small company’s annual accounts audited on a voluntary basis, because investors find it helpful or even demand it.

Can the tax consultant also conduct an audit?

No, only a certified auditor is allowed to check the legal correctness of the bookkeeping and accounting and issue an audit opinion. The audit confirms that the annual financial statements provide a true and fair view of the financial position and performance of the company. The auditor is subject to a mandatory reporting, if embezzlement or other unlawful facts are discovered.
